1. The ADDL. DIRECTOR GENERAL /ROLLING STOCK (ADG/RS) is sanctioned by the ministry to secure, account for and maintain the rolling stock, workshop equipment and facilities. Which have been provided to the Bangladesh Railway by the Government.
2. The ADG/RS has administrative and establishment responsibility for the Rolling Stock Department of Bangladesh Railway which is charged with the maintenance, repair general overhaul and modifications of all Railway Rolling Stock and related equipment. The management of various workshops, sheds and depots. Operation of locomotive and carriages. Management of procurement and Stores Group (department) and management of the Electrical Group (department).
3. The ADG/RS has administrative and establishment responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the Railway-owned ferries. Which cross the Jamuna River.
4 The ADG/RS monitors and advises the Director General on all matters pertaining to the Railway’s Rolling Stock and its work shops and equipment. Stores Group (department) and the Electrical Group (department).
