1. To act as CEO (Chief Executive Officer) under the control of Director General, Bangladesh Rail way (Chairman, Board of Management) & to carry out day-to-day functions under the control of ADG/I (Vice- Chairman of the Board of Management).
2. To undertake various income generating commercial projects on land, acquired by lease/licence from BR or otherwise.
3. To act as PD (Project Director) for the projects under taken by Kalyan Trust.
4. To perform duties relating to various welfare activities for railway employees & their dependants.
5. To co-ordinate the activities of Zonal, Sadar (HQ) & Divisional/Workshop Committees of Kalyan Trust.
6. To prepare annual budget for approval of the Board of Management.
7. To implement the decisions taken by the Board of Management and is responsible to the Board for his actions.
8. To do any other duties assigned by the Board of Management or by the government from time to time
