1. To work as administrative head of the Electrical department under the control of General Manager/East
2. To formulate policy of all technical and other matters of eletrical department.
3. To prepare revenue budget of electrical department and control over expenditure.
4. To prepare specification of electrical tools& plants,drawings &other instruments as well as alternation& modification there of.
5. Purchase of electricity from PDB,DESA,PBS and its distribution of Railway area.
6. To prepare DPP of development work of electrical departments.
7. To help other Railway department related to electrical works.
8. To ensure lights,fans of Passenger trains and its maintenance.
9. To ensure Air-conditioning system of Passenger trains and its repair & maintenance when required.
10. Installation,repair and maintenance of water pumps of Railway area for supplying water in the passenger trains and Railway Quarters and Service buildings.
11. To supervise the duties of officer and staff related to Intercity Trains.
12. To do any other work assigned by General Manager/East.
