1. Responsible to Addl. Director General/Infrastructure (ADG/I) for all matters and work as Head of the department
 2. Responsible for execution of the contract related with BR’s optical fiber.
3. To perform overall responsibilities for staff management under BRTD and operation & maintenance of Bangladesh Railway Telecom System.
4. Responsible for framing of rules, technical instruction and O&M procedures to ensure proper maintenance, supervision at appropriate levels, documentation of all works related to the BRTS.
5. Responsible for planning, design and development, modification and preparation of specification for expansion and development works.
6. Responsible for standardization and ensuring compatibility of equipment, system components as per adopted CCITT and CCIR recommendations, standards and provisions.

9. To deal with all establishment matters of the personnel of BRTD as per E&D rules and regulation of BR.
