1. Administrative and policy matters relating to Civil Engineering of Bangladesh Railway.
2. Processing cases relating to feasibility study on Civil Engineering Projects in respect of bridges, tracks and construction of new rail lines.
3. Working as counterpart of different consultants for Civil Engineering Projects as and when deputed.
4. Dealing with matters relating to Asia – Pacific Railway co-operation Group, ESCAP and other international organizations.
5. Rendering technical assistance in the formulation and implementation of Civil Engineering projects, including procurement and engagement of consultants.
6. Working as co-ordinator for for successful implementation of Civil Engineering projects under CIDA, ADB etc. and overseeing the activities of all consultants engaged for the projects.
7. Supervising the work of Director (Engineering & Estate) and Director (Planning & Procurement).
8. Any other matter relating to Civil Engineering and Estate Department.
